Webley (International) Ltd (Webley) of Willenhall, West Midlands, UK, the iconic British Shooting company established in 1790, announced today it will launch the second member of it's PCP premium sub-brand - Webley-Venom, at IWA 2009 in Nuremberg, Germany.
"The launch of the Webley-Venom SidewinderTM side-lever rifle in January surpassed all our expectations" said Mike Hurney, CEO of Webley. "With our first two months production selling out in advance of manufacture, retailers and consumers alike have given the gun rave reviews" he added.
The new Rifle, based on the same action as the SidewinderTM, is designated ‘The Cobra'TM to follow through the ‘venom' theme, and features a Webley-developed choked barrel, a multi-position two-stage trigger, a rear bolt-action with an anti-double feed feature, a rotary quick-fill charging system, choice of a Sports or Thumb-Hole high quality walnut stock (left handed stocked versions available from launch) and is offered in both .177 and .22 calibres.
"This highly accurate weapon, shooting single-hole groups at 35 metres during design and development, offers 64% more full-power shots per fill than it's major competitor, has an Easy LoadTM Stainless Steel 10-shot Magazine System, an adjustable butt pad, an Easy ReachTM safety catch, and a long-life seal system. With a highly competitive RRP starting at £575 I believe that this rifle has the best combination of features and benefits of any bolt-action PCP on the market today, and is a true category beater" said a highly enthusiastic Simon Atkins, Webley's Technical & Quality Manager, who was a key member of the Rifle's design and development team. "I can't wait to demonstrate it at IWA to our UK and International customers alike" he concluded.
*****************************Webley is probably the oldest name in the British gun industry – able to trace its origins back to 1790 when William Davis started making bullet moulds in his factory in Birmingham, England.
Over the years the company gained a worldwide reputation for high quality guns of all types. As far back as 1911 the company had patented an air pistol and in 1924 launched the Mark I air pistol. Many other models have followed over the years but all have had Webley’s core values of high quality, high performance and value for money at their heart.
Over the past couple of decades the company has led a precarious financial existence until tragically it was forced to call in the receivers at the end of 2005. In March 2006 Airgunsport, the leading supplier of airguns and accessories purchased the company and saved this famous name from extinction.

Keçe orta yumuşaklıkta Poliüretan malzemeden olması gerekir, 1.nesil patriot, Weihrauch, Diana, Crossman, Gamo bu şekildedir, gerçi gamo keçesi biraz serttir ve erken aşınır, oysa hatsan keçeleri bildiğiniz standart sert plastiktir, esnemez, erken aşınır ve aşındığı an hava tutmamaya başlar, Diğer poliüretan keçeler ise hatsana göre yaklaşık ; Gamo 100 kat, Diana 500 kat, Weihrauch 800 kat daha uzun dayanır, ama ilginç olan Diana ve özellikle Weihrauch (weihrauch özellikle dizaynından dolayı) aşınsada basınç anında genleşerek (şişerek) silindir yüzeylerine tam yaslanır, bu sayede stabil atışlar ve çok uzun servis süresine sahiptirler.
Ayrıca silindir arkasında ve yayda bulunan gres yağı her atışda momentum sayesinde silindirin ilerisine gider, kaliteli keçeler bu gresi mükemmel bir şekilde silindir yüzeylerinde mikron seviyesinde bir film tabakası bırakacak şekilde geri sıyırırken, hatsan keçeleri silahı kurarken ileri yüklenen gres yağını tam anlamıyla geriye sıyıramaz ve hatsanlar sürekli yüksek diselde çalışır, her atış arası sürekli zikzaklar şeklinde hız verileri gösterir ve yağ bitince de silahın gücü bitmiş olur.

Dampa ile kayma ihtimali çok az, şayet kayarsa böyle bir şey yaparsın ve Dürbün ayağı takıldıktan sonra zırt pırt sökülme çünkü taktıkdan sonra silahınızın dürbün ayarlarını yaparak sıfırlamanız önemli bir çalışma bunun üzerine sökmeniz halinde ayarlarınız bozulur yeniden sıfırlama yapma zorunluluğunuz doğar.
